The team at C. Todd Smith Law is helping Kiwanis Clubs build a bike, or 100, this holiday season.
We hope you’ll help us in raising money to purchase new bicycles for less fortunate children in the Orlando community. I participated in this project last year and couldn’t wait to do it again. It felt so great to build a bike (or a few) and see them donated to kids. The Bike Build takes place at the South Orlando Kiwanis Club House. This gathering of volunteers will build 100 bikes to be given away free of charge. The club contacts local school guidance counselors and principals who help identify needy kids in the area. The bikes are then presented to the kids for Christmas.
I grew up riding my bike every day and as a teenager loved racing BMX bikes. Getting kids on bikes is a great way to promote exercise and physical health. And of course, riding a bike is fun. If you’d like to volunteer or make a donation, see the link below. The bicycles will be assembled at the South Orlando Kiwanis’ Annual Holiday Bike Build on December 14, 2013. The location is 1940 Conway Gardens Road, Orlando FL 32806.
